James S. Jowers, Jr.

James has been a dedicated martial artist for more than 30 years. As Professor and co-founder of Kempo Unlimited Hawaii, his philosophy and belief is that the various principles of martial arts encourage individuals to grow and develop in the mind, body and spirit. He is proficient in the arts of Tae kwon do, kung fu, Chinese kempo, jiujitsu, boxing, kickboxing and self-defense.

Accomplishments:

• 8th Degree Black Belt.
• (+) 30 years experience in the Martial arts.
• 1993 Grand Slam Triple-Crown Champion.
• 1995 San Shou Kung Fu middleweight Champion.
• Undefeated in Full-contact kickboxing.
• Numerous inspiring instructor awards.
• Co-trained corrections officers and law enforcement officers; including HPD.
• Co-developed and specialized self-defense courses for women.
• Co-developed and trained senior citizens in fitness and self-defense.
• Developed “Defense in the Skies” for airline crew self-defense.
• Certified fitness kickboxing instructor.

Tommy C. Lam

Tommy has been training in the martial arts for more than 30 years. He has trained with some of the best instructors in the world and has taken his knowledge to teach at Kempo Unlimited Hawaii. His philosophy on martial arts is that one needs to keep an open mind and be able to adjust accordingly to new training methods and concepts. He is proficient in the arts of Chinese kempo, judo, jiujitsu, kung fu, boxing, kickboxing and self-defense.

• Hawaii’s first Professional Full-contact Sport-jujitsu fighter.
• 2-time HKL Sport-jujitsu lightweight gold medallist.
• 2-time Canadian Tiger Balm International lightweight Sport-jujitsu silver medalist.
• Rated #3 in the World NBL rankings in 2000.
• Numerous Most Inspiring martial artist awards.
• 2003 Canadian Tiger Balm International lightweight Sport-jujitsu gold medalist.
• Hawaii’s regional director for the USSJA and the ISJA.
• 2005 S.A.W. Federation Japan International lightweight champion.
• 2008 S.A.W. Federation Japan International lightweight champion.
