Eskrima

Instructor Rebudal and I would like to send out a huge mahalo to instructor Acdan for coming out for not only one, but two nights of training with the Eskrima sticks. The techniques were awesome, simple, and effective. We even dabbled into some close combat knife fighting. To all of the students that came out to participate, we would also like to say mahalo and we hope you had a great learning experience.

Let's discuss some techniques we learned and other techniques that can be covered in future visits by Instructor Anthony Acdan!

Hey Admin,

Do you think we could start a Technique disucssion section? I was talking to some of the guys yesterday. It sounds like a lot of us look online, read books, and/or watch dvds to get our "Secret Techniques". It would be cool to have a place to post all those sources. Then we could get everyones input ( the move sucks, works, okay , or whatever).

We probably could post stuff like " I can't finish my triangle!! What am I doing wrong ?" And hopefully one of our Jiu Jitsu guys can put in there 2 cents.

Just a thought.

No one said it was going to be easy, except the recruiter right!? I hear you are having a tough time from your dad, but it could be worse. Take it easy and focus on your training. Then finnish your term and come back if that's what you want. Remember that you make the choices and you call the shots. Keep the spirits high!

Quest for Champions 2008

BIG MAHALOS to Tommy Lam and his school/team for running such a great tournament. I've been to many tournaments and this one was by far, the most organized and well run.

Not only were the facilities good, but the refereeing was top notch and very fair. The competitors too, were very respectful and showed a lot of class.

From the Gracie Barra Honolulu family, thank you very much and we look forward to competing again next year.

The place has all the latest equipment and is super clean. They clean their mats 4 times a day. The guys there are all cool and are very willing to teach. Thanks to Bryan Mau for taking me in and hjooking it up.
